Thomson enhances H-Track actuators for marine use

Thomson unveils upgraded H-Track actuator for marine environments. Enhanced with 316 stainless steel components, the actuator offers superior corrosion resistance and underwater functionality. Suitable for diverse applications, it integrates seamlessly into industrial systems, promising reliability and reduced maintenance.

Regal Rexnord’s Thomson brand has introduced significant enhancements to its H-Track electro-hydraulic actuator, engineered to excel in harsh and high-moisture environments. The latest iteration features marine-grade 316 stainless steel components, boosting corrosion resistance, and a sealed motor housing for underwater operation. These improvements extend its applicability across marine, agricultural, industrial, and off-highway sectors. Additionally, a refined design and optimised online selection tool improve product availability and integration ease.

“The industries we serve push equipment to its limits, often in environments where exposure to moisture, salt, and debris is unavoidable,” stated Anders Karlsson, Senior Product Manager – Linear Actuators at Regal Rexnord’s Linear Motion Division. “The H-Track has been a trusted solution for demanding applications, and with this latest evolution, we are not just entering the marine sector, we are raising the standard for durability across all rugged applications.”

Designed to withstand harsh environments, the H-Track’s robust, self-contained hydraulic system provides the power of hydraulics without hoses, external pumps, or regular maintenance. Key upgrades include corrosion-resistant construction with 316 stainless steel, certified long-term exposure, and an IP68 dynamic rating for underwater operation. These features make it ideal for marine automation, offshore equipment, and other water-immersed systems.

Thomson has optimised stroke length and load configurations, enhancing the H-Track’s specification and delivery speed. While the design is refined for manufacturability, it remains fully customisable to meet specific application needs. The actuator continues to serve as a powerful alternative to traditional hydraulic systems, integrating the pump, motor, and cylinder into a single, maintenance-free unit. This compact design eliminates external hoses and reservoirs, offering high power density and shock-load resistance while simplifying installation.

“Our focus wasn’t just on marine applications—it was on making a more durable, long-lasting actuator for all rugged environments,” added Karlsson. “This upgrade allows customers across industries to get more reliability, less downtime, and a streamlined ordering process, making it easier to integrate into their equipment.”
