Award-winning label manufacturer, The Label Makers, has collaborated with Cardiff-based Hensol Castle Distillery, to produce distinctive labels for four flagship spirits. Located within the cellars of the prestigious Grade 1 listed Hensol Castle, the family-owned enterprise operates a distillery, contract bottling plant, gin school and visitor attraction.
The labels, characterised by intricate details and high-grade materials, utilised a combination of substrates including a FSC certified luxury paper, with the addition of two hot foils. Produced by advanced printing techniques comprising full-colour digital print, hot foil, UV varnishes and screen embossing, the meticulous process has ensured that each label fully enhances the bottle’s appeal.
“The Label Makers’ labels have made a great bottle look absolutely fantastic, helping the product stand out in a competitive market,” said James Lewis, head of operations at Hensol Castle Distillery. “They have an incredible ability to bring our design aspirations to life.”

Dan Wilson, business development manager at The Label Makers, added: “We worked closely with the distiller and designer to extract as much as possible from the design detail, utilising intricate lines, foils, emboss and colours to ensure the labels have great stand-out utilising a tactile paper stock. The result really makes the product.”
Looking ahead, The Label Makers is expected to be involved in the upcoming launch of new products from Hensol Castle Distillery, including Spiced Rum, Cherry Spiced Rum and Premium Vodka.
