Tennant Company partners with Brain Corp to pioneer robotic floor cleaning
Tennant Company, a company developing cleaning solutions, and Brain Corp, a company in autonomous technology for robotics and AI, have announced a sole technology agreement aimed at propelling the development and uptake of next-gen robotic floor cleaning technologies.
This pivotal agreement builds on the successful historical partnership between Tennant and Brain Corp, with a goal to fast-track innovation in the floor cleaning robotics sector. The collaboration leverages Tennant’s extensive history in creating top-tier cleaning equipment and Brain Corp’s expertise in AI-enabled AMR cleaning technology, resulting in a superior customer support ecosystem. With over 6,500 Tennant cleaning robots powered by Brain in operation, this partnership is set to enhance customer ROI and broaden the accessibility of robotic cleaning technologies.
Dave Huml, President and CEO of Tennant Company, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded partnership, noting the company’s commitment to addressing industry challenges through innovative solutions. “By integrating cleaning intelligence and automation, we aim to spearhead the AI-enabled robotic technology revolution in our sector,” Huml remarked.
In the second quarter of 2024, Tennant is set to launch the X4 ROVR, its inaugural purpose-built AMR, showcasing advanced maneuverability and designed for use in compact spaces. Powered by Brain Corp’s latest navigation software and hardware, the X4 ROVR will be exclusively available on Tennant machines for floorcare applications, promising enhanced customer ROI and fostering wider adoption of robotic cleaning solutions. This launch marks the beginning of an expanded range of AMR products powered by Brain Corp’s technology, exclusively for Tennant equipment, aimed at covering a broader spectrum of cleaning applications and improving customer investment returns.
This collaboration brings together Tennant’s legacy of excellence in cleaning equipment manufacture and Brain Corp’s leadership in AI-enabled AMR technology, positioning them to accelerate the adoption of robotic cleaning solutions. Starting with the X4 ROVR, Tennant will offer a comprehensive AMR solution, combining equipment and autonomy services into a single offering sold by Tennant, simplifying customer purchases and creating a new recurring revenue stream for autonomy services.
David Pinn, CEO of Brain Corp, highlighted the partnership’s shared goal of enhancing productivity and supporting janitorial teams. “We envision a world enhanced by robotics, and this partnership is a significant step towards realizing that vision,” said Pinn.
Dave Huml underscored Tennant’s dedication to innovation and customer-centricity, noting the partnership’s role in reinforcing Brain Corp’s pioneering status in AI and automation within the cleaning industry. “We are excited to explore the full potential of next-generation robotic floor cleaning solutions that deliver tangible value to our customers,” Huml added.
In conjunction with this agreement, Tennant has invested $32 million in Brain Corp. Fay West, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Tennant Company, will join the Brain Corp board of directors, further cementing the strategic alignment between the two companies.
