TECO 2030 starts manual manufacturing of hydrogen fuel cell stacks in Norway

Supplier of fuel cell technology TECO 2030 has begun manual fuel cell stack production at its Innovation Center in Narvik, Norway. The announcement marks a major step toward the commercialization of TECO 2030’s fuel cell technology.

The fuel cell stacks form a major park of TECO 2030’s hydrogen fuel cell system which will deliver clean, efficient and reliable power for both marine and land applications. The technology has been designed entirely from the ground up for maritime use and adheres to stringent classification approvals.

Developed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the system is also stated to enhance energy efficiency in areas including marine transportation, power generation and heavy-duty transportation.

Initially, the Innovation Center will manufacture small quantities of the fuel cell stacks, before scaling up following the delivery of Automation Engineering production equipment from ThyssenKrupp. The advanced equipment will enable TECO 2030 to meet the demand for fuel cell technology from the marine and heavy-duty sectors.
