Syntegon expands food packaging with new facility

Syntegon enhances food packaging capacity with new assembly hall. The new facility at Remshalden site expands production capabilities, addressing increased demand. The 1,200 square metre hall supports complex line projects and adds space for 25 employees. Syntegon’s investment reflects confidence in market growth and strategic direction.

Syntegon has officially reinforced its commitment to the food industry by inaugurating a new assembly hall for its Food Horizontal business at the Remshalden site near Stuttgart. This development marks a significant milestone in the site’s modernisation and Syntegon’s strategic expansion in the burgeoning food packaging market.

On 26 November, the inauguration ceremony highlighted the company’s efforts to expand its capacity. Torsten Türling, CEO of Syntegon, remarked, “This project is a strong symbol of our momentum over recent years. It shows that our strategy meets customer needs and is delivering. With this new assembly hall, we are creating the foundation to scale technological innovation, expand production for our food customers, and offer employees a modern, future-ready work environment.”

The investment directly addresses the rapidly increasing demand for Syntegon’s solutions. The Remshalden site, focusing on horizontal food packaging, has witnessed sales nearly double since 2022, placing considerable pressure on current infrastructure. The new facility adds 1,200 square metres of contiguous assembly area, the largest at the site, significantly enhancing capacities. This additional space is crucial for managing complex, end-to-end line projects — a central aspect of the Food Horizontal business’s holistic line-solution approach that integrates advanced secondary and end-of-line technologies. The new hall also accommodates approximately 25 additional employees.

Bruno Oberle, executive vice president of Food Horizontal, emphasised the significance of the nearly four million euro investment, stating, “This investment reflects our confidence in the market, in our strategy, and most importantly, in our people.”

Construction of the new facility was completed in just over a year, finishing six weeks ahead of schedule due to effective collaboration between Syntegon and project partners FP die Generalplaner and APS Bau. Additionally, the facility aligns with Syntegon’s environmental objectives, featuring a photovoltaic system across the entire roof to support the company’s sustainability goals.
