With edie readers working remotely or on furlough, this brand new series of video interviews keeps you connected to the inspirational business leaders who are continuing to drive sustainability and champion climate action from their own homes.
#SustyTalk is all about keeping edie’s loyal readers connected to sustainable business leaders across the world, whilst reminding us all that sustainability and climate action must go on through the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
The latest episode sees edie’s senior reporter Sarah George speaking with UPS’s sustainable development co-ordinator, Claire Thompson-Sage.
Thompson-Sage provides an update on UPS’s work to roll out electric vehicles (EVs) and related infrastructure and describes what work in the low-carbon transport space has looked like during Covid-19.
UPS has been a leader in EV technology across the logistics industry in recent years, taking forward a variety of programmes and pilot schemes. The delivery firm is integrating 10,000 Arrival vehicles, for example, and using batteries from end-of-life EVs as components within its sotrage and charging infrastructure.
In this interview, there is also a discussion around how private sector organisations can engage with policymakers amid the green recovery and build back better movements.
