Semi-Kinetics Expands Production Capacity with 10th Hanwha Placement System
Semi-Kinetics, a leading provider of electronic manufacturing services, has bolstered its surface mount technology (SMT) capabilities with the purchase of two Hanwha Semitech Americas Decan S1 placement machines. With this addition, the company now operates a total of 10 Hanwha SMD placers, including five Decan S1 systems and five SM482s at its Lake Forest facility.
The Decan S1 is a next-generation chip mounter known for its exceptional performance and versatility. With support for PCBs up to 510 x 510mm (standard) and up to 1,500mm x 460mm (optional), the system enables optimal productivity for batch production while maintaining superior placement quality and reducing component loss rates.
Featuring a placement speed of 47,000 components per hour (Cph) and an accuracy of ±28μm, the Decan S1 improves placement speed for odd-shaped components by 25 percent. Additionally, its advanced system enhances simultaneous pick-up rates by automatically arranging pocket positions through real-time communication between the machine and feeder.
“This investment reflects our commitment to staying ahead of our customers’ needs,” said Michael Wayne Leedom, President – CEO at Semi-Kinetics. “With ten Hanwha machines on our production floor, we are well-equipped to deliver high-quality assemblies quickly and efficiently.”
