Schneider Electric has appointed David Hall as Zone President for the UK and Ireland, a crucial region for the company’s European strategy. As the UK and Ireland experience significant energy transitions, Schneider Electric aims to leverage its expertise in electrification, automation, and digitalisation to bolster industrial competitiveness and resilience.
Hall will manage the expansion of Schneider Electric’s solutions, focusing on operational efficiency and energy security across various sectors. This includes addressing the infrastructure demands driven by increasing electricity consumption in the UK and Ireland.
With nine years at Schneider Electric, Hall brings a deep understanding of the UK and Ireland markets and a strong customer focus. Previously, he held roles such as Senior Vice President for Industrial Automation Strategic Accounts and led the UK and Ireland Power Systems business, advancing technology for renewable energy, electric vehicles, and other innovations. He will report to Laurent Bataille, Executive Vice President of Europe Operations.
Laurent Bataille highlighted the vast growth potential: “The UK and Ireland are moving decisively towards sustainability, with significant opportunities in the net zero economy, potentially worth £1 trillion in the UK by 2030. Strategic energy investments are crucial for Ireland’s National Development Plan, with billions already allocated.”
David Hall stated, “This is an exciting time for the UK and Ireland as the energy transition accelerates. Our recent investments, like the smart manufacturing plant in Scarborough, position us well to enhance our customers’ decarbonisation benefits.”
Hall, an electrical and electronics engineer, possesses extensive experience in renewable electricity, energy management, and efficiency. Before Schneider Electric, he held senior roles at companies including ENGIE, SSE, and E.ON.
Hall succeeds Kelly Becker, who served five years and will work with Hall to ensure a smooth leadership transition. Her future role at Schneider Electric will be announced later.
