An iconic sauce brand that has been creating tastes from countries all over the world to transform everyday dishes for more than 40 years has relaunched with a new look and a brand new range of marinades.

Encona – established in 1975 – has been making provenance-based, cooking and table sauces, using quality ingredients and expertise.

The range of cooking and table sauces has been available in eight flavours and covers a wide “heat” range from the mild Thai Sweet Chilli to the Scotch Bonnet Sauce.

But the marketing team at Encona decided it was time for a relaunch and to introduce a whole new product line of marinades.

The new marinades include Mexican Adobo, Moroccan Harissa, Korean Bulgogi and Jamaican-style Jerk.

Vandu Patel, marketing manager for Grace Foods UK, which produces the Encona sauces for the UK market said the brand is really keen to attract new consumers.

“So we decided to launch a range of new marinades, which are milder in taste than the Encona sauces and have been created to appeal to families who are not familiar with the Encona brand,” Patel explained.

The marinades are quick and easy to use and Grace Foods UK believes will help to introduce people to tastes from all over the world.

The new rebrand has also been key to Encona introducing a whole new product range, said Patel.

“We worked with Ocean Branding to achieve a new look and feel for Encona, which presented an authentic, high-quality product that says these sauces will bring the ‘Tastes of the World’ to your every-day dinnertime.

“The new branding researched very well with consumers and communicated to our key audience what we were trying to say about the brand – that not only is Encona a quality brand, it’s authentic, it makes food more interesting, it’s innovative, it’s unique, it’s established and it’s a brand that consumers are loyal to. And most importantly, it really stands out on supermarket shelves among its competitors.”

The Encona Marinades Moroccan Harissa, Korean Bulgogi and Jamaican-style Jerk will be available to buy in 375 Tesco stores from May with a retail price of £1.75 per 220ml bottle.

The Encona 142ml Sauces are available at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA. Morrisons, Co-Op, Iceland, Waitrose and convenience stores across the UK.
