Ruland Manufacturing has unveiled the D-series six beam couplings, broadening its beam coupling range to deliver one of the most comprehensive selections for precision motion control applications. These couplings feature an expanded bore size range up to 25 mm and can handle angular misalignment up to 7 degrees.
An anodized finish enhances corrosion resistance, while the six beam design ensures higher torsional stiffness compared to single or four beam couplings, all while maintaining excellent misalignment compensation.
The D-series is engineered with two sets of three helical cuts and a wide slot, facilitating high axial misalignment. This design results in the longest length relative to size in Ruland’s beam coupling lineup, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring a wide distance between shaft ends.
By incorporating the D-series, Ruland now offers standard beam coupling solutions that cater to the majority of light- to medium-duty servo and motion control applications. This allows engineers to select standard couplings, eliminating the need for custom components and simplifying design, qualification, and procurement processes.
Manufactured from carefully chosen 2024-T351 bar stock, the D-series beam couplings are produced using proprietary processes to ensure consistent quality. Available in bore sizes from 4 mm to 25 mm, these couplings are ideal for applications such as encoders, positioning systems, robotics, medical devices, and automation equipment, where precision and reliability are paramount.
