PTC enhances AI features in ALM portfolio

PTC launches new AI-driven ALM solutions for industry leaders. The release of Codebeamer 3.2, Codebeamer AI 1.0, and Pure Variants 7.2 promises enhanced management of software-driven product complexity and regulatory demands. These updates aim to strengthen data foundations and integrate AI effectively across product lifecycles.

PTC has expanded its application lifecycle management (ALM) offerings with the introduction of three advanced solutions: Codebeamer 3.2, Codebeamer AI 1.0, and Pure Variants 7.2. These updates are engineered to address the escalating complexity and regulatory pressures faced by organisations as they transition to software-centric products.

Enrique Krajmalnik, General Manager of ALM at PTC, stated, “Our customers’ products are becoming increasingly complex and software-driven, and they need confidence that every change, requirement, and decision is connected across the product lifecycle.” He emphasised that the new solutions will facilitate the modernisation of software development and requirements management, ensuring a robust data foundation for managing complexity and leveraging AI responsibly.

Codebeamer 3.2 and Pure Variants 7.2 introduce significant enhancements, such as digital thread integrations that seamlessly connect with PTC’s Windchill product lifecycle management (PLM) solution and other enterprise systems. This integration enables teams to efficiently track requirements, manage changes, and ensure compliance in both software and hardware development. Additional features include Stream Baselines for capturing project snapshots, UI upgrades for the Review Hub, and Feature-Based Product Line Engineering (PLE) to automate stream creation.

Building on these capabilities, Codebeamer AI 1.0 debuts two AI assistants: the Requirements Assistant and the Test Case Assistant. The Requirements Assistant, guided by INCOSE and ISTQB standards, identifies requirement quality issues, facilitating the creation of clear, standards-aligned requirements with reduced expert oversight. The Test Case Assistant optimises test case generation directly from requirements, enhancing accuracy, traceability, and validation speed.

Joseph June, Global Head of AI Innovation at PTC, remarked, “By working alongside engineers in real time, Codebeamer AI brings greater clarity and consistency to everyday decisions, helping teams move faster with confidence and keep pace with the demands of modern, software-driven product development.” This AI solution, alongside PTC’s Windchill AI and ServiceMax AI, supports organisations in scaling AI-driven transformation confidently.
