The Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) has announced it has launched its 2025 Manufacturing Facility Support Programme (MFSP). Applications are now open for a new round of funding aimed at boosting the UK’s offshore wind manufacturing capacity.

With a total funding pot of £2m available, the programme offers grants of up to £500,000 per project to support early-stage, pre-investment activities that pave the way for significant capital investment in UK manufacturing.

The MFSP is designed to support businesses seeking to build new or expand existing manufacturing facilities that serve the offshore wind sector and align with the strategic priorities outlined in the Offshore Wind Industrial Growth Plan. Companies must be registered and operate in the UK to be eligible.

Successful projects will be expected to generate at least £5 million in capital investment within two years, £5 million in annual revenue and 20 new UK jobs within five years.

Tom Piper, OWGP Project Manager, said: “MFSP is designed to support all development-phase work to accelerate final investment decisions in facilities.

“This targeted support enables UK manufacturers and suppliers to move forward with confidence and take decisive steps toward scaling up their operations, helping to strengthen the resilience and capability of our domestic supply chain.

“With clear expectations for job creation, revenue generation, and capital investment, MFSP supports the kind of sustainable industrial growth needed to meet our 2030 offshore wind targets and beyond.”

Funding will be awarded on a competitive basis in the form of a grant. Successful applications will demonstrate a long-term business plan that covers investment plans, forecast market share, revenue, profitability, employment and exports.

The deadline to submit an application to the Programme is Friday 19th September at 5pm.
