Olvi Group has strategically expanded its presence in the Nordic region by acquiring a majority share in the Brewery International group. This decisive move, announced on 3 December 2025, fortifies the Finnish company’s market position in both Sweden and Norway. The transaction is anticipated to be finalised in January 2026, aligning with Olvi’s ambition to become a premier multi-local beverage partner in Northern Europe.
Brewery International, which encompasses Mission Wine & Spirits, reported a 2024 revenue of EUR 22 million and employs 29 individuals across the two Nordic countries. This acquisition grants Olvi immediate access to vital sales channels, including grocery retail, the on-trade sector, and the state-controlled monopoly markets in Sweden and Norway.
Olvi Group CEO Patrik Lundell remarked, “This is yet another step in advancing our strategic vision to become the most wanted multi-local beverage house. We already have a strong foothold in Northern Europe through our existing domestic markets, and this acquisition further expands our presence across the Nordics, creating synergies with our current export operations.”
The acquisition diversifies Olvi’s portfolio by introducing leading global beer brands such as San Miguel and establishing a strong presence in the wine and spirits sectors through Mission Wine & Spirits. Lundell added, “The acquisition enhances our portfolio with leading global brands and strengthens the distribution of Olvi Group’s products in Norway and Sweden, creating the foundation for growth through stronger market access.”
This strategic move positions Olvi to offer a comprehensive beverage selection across categories — from core beers, ciders, and non-alcoholic drinks to premium imported wines and spirits. It enhances Olvi’s appeal to retailers and partners within the competitive Nordic market. This acquisition follows Olvi’s recent strategic efforts in the Baltic markets, including acquiring the premium craft brewery Valmiermuižas alus in Latvia and mineral water producer Värska Originaal AS in Estonia, indicating a cohesive strategy to solidify its Northern European operations.
