North Sea Midstream Partners (NSMP) a leading UK independent midstream operator, has announced it has signed a lease for Aberdeen’s prestigious Marischal Square development.
The company says it has relocated into the city centre from Balmoral business park where it will be closer to customers and stakeholders, signalling NSMP’s long-term commitment to the region.
The new office will initially be home to NSMP’s Aberdeen team, with space to regularly host colleagues from London and Norway and enable future growth.
Sayma Cox, NSMP CEO (pictured) said: “Investing in our new flagship home at Marischal Square will provide a collaborative space for our team, customers and partners as we continue to provide the critical infrastructure that supports the UK’s energy security and bring forward energy transition projects. We are committed to supporting economic growth in Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland and are excited for our move into the city centre.”
NSMP owns nearly 600km of gas pipelines in the North Sea capable of supplying up to a quarter of UK gas demand, said to make it the largest and most diversified gas transportation and processing system in the UK. The organisation supports the employment of over 1,000 people at its sites at St Fergus, Teesside and in Norway.
NSMP says it provides a critical link in the energy supply chain by safely transporting and processing gas to heat homes and power the economy. The firm is also bringing forward a diverse energy transition project portfolio including a 10% interest in the Acorn carbon capture storage (CCS) project at St Fergus.
Aberdeen City Council Finance and Resources Convener Councillor Alex McLellan said: “We are delighted that NSMP, a company which is renowned for its high standards as well as being a critical link in the energy supply chain, has relocated its Aberdeen office to Marischal Square.
“The development provides high quality office space with strong environmental credentials and is helping to regenerate the east end of the city centre.”
