Lammin Develops Bluetooth® Solution Based on Energy Harvesting By ZF

Lammin, the Chinese manufacturer of intelligent control systems for smart homes and buildings develops an eight outputs solution with Bluetooth® protocol based on the energy harvesting technology of ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The energy harvesting solution can be integrated into all kinds of smart home and smart building system to control lighting or other electrical devices in home and building.

The core element of this product is a tiny and compact energy harvesting generator (20.1 x 7.3 x 14.3 mm) from ZF. The generator produces enough energy by pressing the button by means of induction, so that it can reliably transmit RF commands to a paired receiver. As a wireless solution it guarantees flexibility and the possibility to retrofit easily according to individual requirements. Without the use of batteries and with a lifetime of 1,000,000 switching cycles, maintenance and disposal requirements of battery replacements can be avoided.

The energy harvesting solution is very flexible in use and can be realized with different RF protocols. Besides the Bluetooth® protocol which is used for the system of Lammin also KNX-RF®, EnOcean® or customer-specific RF protocols can be realized.

At electronica from 11th to 13th July in Shanghai (Booth No. 6.2D102), ZF will present an overview of its energy harvesting technology.
