Kneron unveils next-generation AI chip

Kneron, an AI solutions provider based in San Diego and backed by the likes of Alibaba, Sequoia, Horizons Ventures, Qualcomm, and SparkLabs has announced a new state of the art AI chip: the Kneron KL720.

The KL720 in intended to be the brain of smart devices and will allow them to recognise what they could previously only see, and listen to what they could previously only hear, according to the company.

The KL720 has been designed with significantly enhanced processing power, and is capable of processing images up to 4K resolution and videos up to Full HD 1080p resolution.

The company claims that it marks a new standard for audio processing with the KL720 supporting full natural language processing. The KL720 can also hold an entire dictionary’s worth of words for use in translation applications.

The KL720 will soon be available for sampling by device manufacturers.
