Ineratec and Zenith Energy Terminals to construct e-fuel plant in the Port of Amsterdam

A memorandum of understanding has been signed by Ineratec and Zenith Energy Terminals for the construction of a Power-to-Liquid (PtL) plant in the Port of Amsterdam.

The PtL plant is expected to produce up to 35,000 metric tons of e-fuels annually from locally generated and imported green hydrogen, and from 100,000 metric tons of CO₂ which will, Ineratec says, be “captured from Dutch industry and used as a key feedstock for the Ineratec process”.

At present, Ineratec is planning to manufacture and refine e-fuels such as sustainable kerosene, clean diesel and CO₂-neutral gasoline at the site. Beginning in 2027, these will be delivered directly to off-takers in the shipping industry and also companies within aviation and road transportation sectors.

The Port of Amsterdam was chosen as the location for the plant due to its strategic location and access to key infrastructure. The sustainable e-fuels will also contribute toward the country’s goal of achieving a circular economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
