Incat completes structural construction of world’s largest electric ferry

Incat has lifted the final passenger deck module of the Incat Hull 096 into place, signaling the structural completion of what the company states is the world’s largest electric ferry.

Hull 096 is 130m long and will carry up to 2,100 passengers and 225 vehicles. The successful placement of the front superstructure, the largest and most technically challenging module Incat has ever lifted, is a pivotal moment in the journey toward launching the world’s largest electric ferry.

With the structure now complete, the project will move into the next critical phase – the internal fit-out. InCat’s teams are now outfitting passenger amenities and preparing the duty-free shopping deck, which spans more than 2,300m2. In the coming months, major machinery will begin to arrive at the shipyard to undertake the installation. Hull 096 remains on schedule for delivery in late 2025.
