Impulse Embedded supplies Jetson Thor Edge AI systems

Impulse Embedded unveils cutting-edge edge AI systems with Thor. Harnessing NVIDIA’s latest technology, these systems boast significant performance gains, offering up to 2,070 FP4 TFLOPS. This leap in capability supports real-time generative AI and advanced robotics, marking a pivotal advancement in industrial computing solutions.

Impulse Embedded has announced the launch of its latest turnkey edge AI systems, powered by NVIDIA’s Jetson AGX Thor. This next-generation platform is set to redefine computing at the edge with up to 2,070 FP4 TFLOPS of AI performance. Featuring a 14-core Arm Neoverse-V3AE CPU, up to 128GB LPDDR5X, and 100GbE-class connectivity, Jetson AGX Thor delivers data-centre-class capabilities for real-time generative AI, advanced sensor fusion, and high-performance robotics.

Compared to its predecessor, the Jetson AGX Orin, Thor offers over 7.5 times more AI compute and 3.5 times better energy efficiency. This substantial enhancement enables new applications, including autonomous vehicles and extensive, low-latency vision analytics. Thor is integral to NVIDIA’s strategic frameworks such as Isaac™, Metropolis, Holoscan, and GR00T, ensuring long-term software compatibility and expedited innovation.

Chris Durose, Head of Technology and R&D at Impulse Embedded, stated: “With Jetson AGX Thor, our customers can deploy multimodal, foundation-model-driven robotics and real-time generative AI directly on device without the latency or data-sovereignty challenges of the cloud. We’ve paired Thor’s performance with field-proven, industrial platforms so engineering teams can prototype and deploy faster.”

The Advantech MIC-743-AT is a prime example of these advancements, featuring the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor. This edge AI inference computer offers up to 2,070 FP4 TFLOPS and a 14-core Arm Neoverse-V3AE CPU, enabling seamless data transfer between sensors, cameras, and upstream systems. Its fanless design and wide operating temperature range make it an ideal choice for industrial and mission-critical applications. The modular I/O architecture provides flexibility for expansion, supporting diverse use cases across manufacturing, smart cities, and healthcare AI.

Impulse Embedded is committed to supporting customers in integrating Jetson platforms into production-grade solutions. From custom configuration to lifecycle management, they offer comprehensive assistance for those evaluating Jetson AGX Thor or the Advantech MIC-743-AT, ensuring a smooth transition from prototype to deployment.
