Hip Pop’s Gut Lovin’ Orange Soda makes waves after double Grocer Award win
Alternative beverage brand, Hip Pop, is ending the year on a high after one of its most popular sodas has been recognised once again by UK food and drink ‘bible’ The Grocer, taking home its second industry award in just two months.
Hip Pop’s Gut Lovin’ Orange Soda not only won The Grocer New Product Award for Soft Drinks – beating a number of industry giants including Red Bull, Rubicon and Shloer – but was also named ‘Top Launch’ in the Soft Drinks category within The Grocer’s Top Products 2023 report.
As one of the newest additions to Hip Pop’s refreshingly delicious Gut Lovin’ Soda range, the wild and zesty Orange Soda is not only vegan, low-sugar and non-artificial, but is infused with living cultures and chicory root fibre (¼ of your daily fibre intake) for supporting gut health.
A symbol of innovation in the UK FMCG sector, The Grocer New Product and Packaging Awards celebrate the latest and greatest food and drinks products that have hit the shelves over the last 18 months. Similarly, each of the categories covered in The Grocer’s Top Products report features a ‘Top Launch’ – the product most significant to its respective category in 2023.
Emma Thackray, co-founder of Hip Pop, said: “Our drinks aren’t just packed with gut-friendly living cultures – they’re loaded with flavour and personality too. Our juicy and citrusy Gut Lovin’ Orange Soda will make your tastebuds dance with joy, and with ¼ of your daily plant fibre in each serving, it’s the perfect choice for anyone looking to love their gut in stealth mode.
“We have experienced a wealth of awards success this year – we took home 5 stars across 4 of our gut healthy drinks* at the Great Taste Awards, positioning Hip Pop as an official Great Taste producer.
“So, for one of our favourite products to be recognised by The Grocer is a huge testament to the quality and design of our products, and this most recent award win is just another achievement to add to our most successful year to date. 2023 has been an epic year for Hip Pop, and we couldn’t have achieved it without the support from our fantastic team, partners and customers!”
Based in a brewery in the centre of Manchester, Hip Pop was founded in 2019 by friends Emma Thackray and Kenny Goodman. What started as the creation of Emma’s homemade fermented drinks to aid Kenny’s IBS issues quickly turned into a passion after experiencing the results and exploring the booming functional drinks market.
The Manchester-based business is quickly becoming THE go-to functional soft drinks brand, redefining the functional drinks landscape with its tasty and healthy range of vegan, low-sugar and non-artificial kombucha and sodas that “taste good and do good”.
Hip Pop is currently stocked by a number of retailers including Booths, Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Sainsbury’s, with ambitious plans to further increase its retail distribution by 150% over the next 12 months.
