Hikers scale new heights for charity

Mike Boswell from Plastribution, the UK’s leading polymer distributor, and Jeremy Webster from Marbles PR, a marketing communications firm, will embark on a non-stop journey to visit each of the 49 highest points of every single English county in just six days in the Highpointer Challenge, a demanding hiking event, set to take place from 15-20 June.

Inspired by the US-based Highpointers Club in Colorado, which promotes climbing to the highest point in each of the 50 states, the challenge involves a rigorous schedule: 58 hours of walking, covering 178 km, and 55 hours of driving from county to county. Supporting them will be John Oakley, known as ‘the man with a campervan’, who will provide transportation between high points, allowing the pair to rest and recover as they travel.

The adventure, which starts and finishes at England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, aims to raise funds for Mountain Rescue and Air Ambulance charities. “The English Highpointer Challenge is not just a physical and logistical test, but a testament to the spirit of adventure and charity,” said Boswell. “We are excited to take on this challenge and support the invaluable work of Mountain Rescue and Air Ambulance services.”
