HARTING announces new UK Managing Director

HARTING Ltd, the German electrical and electronic connector technology company, is under new management from January 2021. Current Managing Director, Peter Hannon, announced his retirement earlier in 2020 and stepped down in December of that year. He is succeeded by Simon Asbury, who stepped up from his previous role as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Simon has worked in the electronics and electrical sector since 1988, gaining experience in a range of engineering and sales roles. He joined HARTING in 1997 as a sales engineer, before taking over management of HARTING’s distributors. In 2001 he became Field Sales Manager, with responsibility for the business’s electrical arm, before a promotion to Director of Sales and Market Development in 2007. Since 2018, he has held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing.

Following the announcement, Simon commented; “I would like to begin by thanking Peter for his successful time as Managing Director of HARTING Ltd; myself and the team wish him a long and healthy retirement. I am delighted to be appointed as the next Managing Director.”
