Bio&Me, created by The Gut Health Doctor, Dr Megan Rossi, BSc, PhD RD, has secured a major new distribution deal for its range of deliciously diverse gut-loving porridges and granolas in 791 Tesco stores across the UK.
The launch into Tesco consolidates Bio&Me’s fast-track success story, building on existing listings with Sainsbury’s Waitrose, Co-op, Ocado and Holland & Barrett.
Launched in November 2019, the Chester and London-based startup is now the UK’s leading gut health brand as well as the fastest growing cereal brand (+389%1). Over 8 million bowls of gut-loving goodness have been consumed by the British public to date. With £3 million retail sales in 2021 on track to treble this year and recent investment from Harry Kane, England Captain and Tottenham striker, the brand’s growing popularity shows how gut health is fast becoming a new lifestyle approach.
The four-strong range will be available in Tesco stores from the beginning of July and will include Bio&Me’s best-selling variants: Apple & Cinnamon Gut-Loving Porridge, Super Seedy & Nutty Gut-Loving Porridge, Low Sugar Naturally Gut-Loving Granola and Super Seedy & Nutty Gut-Loving Granola. RSP £2.95/400g pack porridge – RSP £3.70/ 350g pack granola.
Bio&Me is the only brand to carry the prestigious ‘Good for your Gut’ health claim, thanks to its clinical trial backed EFSA2-approved ingredient. 70% of our immune system lies in the gut, and gut health has been linked to the health of many other organs, including the heart and brain. Based on Dr Megan’s scientific research, the brand believes that people and microbes thrive on variety and deliciously good food.
Dr Megan Rossi, Bio&Me co-founder, said: “At Bio&Me, we’re on a mission to make looking after your gut health as easy and as accessible as possible. As a dietitian and a scientist, I’m interested in delivering great tasting food that also truly delivers on its health claims. This is what Bio&Me is all about. I’m excited to be introducing the brand to a whole new raft of consumers via Tesco.”
Jon Walsh, Bio&Me co-founder and CEO, said consumers are engaging with their gut health now more than ever before.
“The demand for quality digestive health products continues to grow as more consumers become interested in self-care on the back of the pandemic. Bio&Me’s success is testament to the belief and support from key retailer buyers across the board. We are incredibly grateful to them and this significant new listing will help propel the brand to the next level,” he added.
