Grupo Gallo Caldo Marisco
Grupo Gallo has launched the new natural seafood broth, which seeks to respond to the growth in demand for this product in the Spanish market.
Fishbroths, paella/fideuá and fumet are the second most important variety in the broth market and represent 19% of the total market, with an increase of 4% in their consumption in 2023 compared to the previous year, according to data from the consulting firm Nielsen.
Likewise, 81% of the occasions of consumption of fish broths, paella-fideuá and fumet are for culinary uses, with 75% of culinary uses focused on the preparation of paella or fideuá, according to data from the Kantar Usage report. To respond to this need, Gallo has designed a versatile seafood broth, because it brings a unique touch to dishes such as fideuá and rice, but also for soups and stews.
Grupo Gallo, which entered the market at the beginning of 2023 with the launch of five varieties of natural broth (Chicken, Stew, Vegetables, Escudella and Chicken with Iberian Ham), now presents its sixth reference in this segment, a seafood broth for paella and fideuá, the only one currently made with 20% prawns. This new product not only stands out for its high concentration of seafood, but also for being a practical and flavourful solution that promises to raise the level of any recipe due to its organoleptic properties.
Prawns are one of the most consumed and appreciated seafood by Spaniards, an ingredient that provides an intense and robust flavour profile. For this reason, the Caldo de Marisco de Gallo is the product in its category with the highest percentage of prawns on the market: 20% that makes it an ideal choice for those looking to enrich paellas and fideuás with its characteristic sea flavour.
Grupo Gallo has prepared a special limited-time promotion on the occasion of the launch: for the purchase of a carton of the new Seafood Broth, consumers will receive a free unit of chicken broth, the most demanded reference of the Gallo Broths thanks to its 33% chicken and its characteristic flavour.
On the occasion of the launch of its new broth designed to enhance the flavour of paellas and fideuás, Grupo Gallo will actively participate in the 63rd edition of the International Valencian Paella Competition in Sueca on 15 September. During the event, considered the world epicenter of paellas, attendees will be able to taste the new product in various demonstrations, with tastings of the broth itself and also of paellas cooked with the company’s new launch.
With a year and a half of experience in the wine category, Grupo Gallo has achieved a meritorious 2.4% share in this segment. Throughout 2023, the consumption of industrial wines grew by 7% in Spain, with Grupo Gallo being a new player that has revolutionised the game. With the company’s entry into this new market, Gallo has managed to generate an increment of 1 million euros in the category in its first four months, becoming the second manufacturer with the highest penetration (3.7%).
