Food group commits to boosting mental health service with hiking challenge

Leading food and drink consultancy The Good Food Group is planning to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise vital funds for mental health charity Mind.

The team will tackle the 24-mile challenge in just under 12 hours on Friday 6 August to raise much-needed funds for the organisation, as well as enjoy a team bonding event to encourage employees to get outdoors together, boosting company wellbeing.

Ross Carlin, managing director and founder of The Good Food Group, said: “We’re really excited to be taking part in the challenge. We’ve set ourselves quite a target but it’s a great opportunity for us to support Mind.

“Our workplace is a massive advocate for mental health, as well as personal development and wellbeing, so partnering with a charity that provides these services is one that is close to our hearts and important to us as a business.”

Mind is a charity that provides advice and support to help empower those who are experiencing mental health issues. The team at Mind campaigns to improve its services, raise awareness of the topic and promote understanding year on year.

Ross added: “We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us and donated so far and I’m incredibly proud of the team for getting involved. We’re also hosting a cake sale to raise addition funds, and we look forward to reaching our goal of £1000.”
