Flowfinity offering new solutions to aid integration of IoT in manufacturing
Flowfinity, a no-code platform, is introducing new solutions to assist smaller manufacturers in maximising uptime and reducing waste by simplifying the integration of IoT and Operational Intelligence.
Advancements in smart manufacturing are promoting growth and efficiency within the sector, yet the complexity and cost of deploying a custom solution have historically limited these benefits to only the largest and most sophisticated firms.
Flowfinity has unveiled an integrated solution that aims to streamline production value and increase quality with fewer errors. The solution enables manufacturers to:
- Stream sensor data in real-time to operational intelligence dashboards, ensuring everything is as it should be and alerting when it is not.
- Collect and analyse operational data around the clock to predict equipment failure and initiate maintenance protocols, thereby avoiding premature machinery replacement.
- Monitor temperature, vibration, pressure, and environmental factors crucial for optimal equipment operation and receive notifications of any anomalies.
By retrofitting existing equipment with smart sensors, manufacturers can enhance maintenance, extend asset life, improve quality control, reduce material waste and energy usage, and gain better insights into their supply chains and operations for more informed, data-driven decisions.
“Flowfinity IoT sensor data can be combined with our Streams database, optimised to collect millions of records 24/7 with an efficient storage structure, ensuring high-volume data is available for interactive visualisation. This enables managers to monitor crucial equipment in their manufacturing plants for quick responses to anomalies, perform detailed analysis of historical data for preventative maintenance, and continuously improve manufacturing operations,” says Larry Wilson, VP of Sales & Marketing at Flowfinity.
For manufacturers, monitoring sensor data from industrial equipment optimises runtime and maintenance schedules, accumulates usage statistics, and results in greater ROI through a reduction in errors and raw material waste. When a threshold is reached, Streams will trigger Actions where a software robot will create a preventative maintenance work order and notify the appropriate team members.
Streams data can also be visualised in interactive operational dashboards, allowing managers to easily detect any changes in data and conditionally monitor equipment status. Managers will know precisely when a machine went offline, exceeded optimal thresholds, and for how long.
