FlashPCB Expands High-Speed Production Capabilities with New Hanwha SMT Equipment
FlashPCB, a leading provider of quick-turn PCB assembly, has announced the recent purchase of two advanced SMT systems from Hanwha Semitech Americas: the SM481 Advanced High-Speed Flexible Mounter and the SM482 Advanced Flexible Mounter. This investment marks a significant step forward in FlashPCB’s mission to deliver even faster, more flexible, and more reliable electronics manufacturing services.
The SM481 is engineered for speed and precision. With a 10-head single overhead gantry and an optimum placement rate of 39,000 components per hour (CPH), the SM481 handles component sizes from 01005 chips up to 0.62 inches (16mm) and a maximum component height of 10mm. Its placement accuracy of 50 microns and 120-slot feeder capacity make it ideal for high-mix, high-volume production environments.
Complementing the SM481, the SM482 features a Six Head Six Vision (SHSV) component alignment system and a true “on-the-fly” vertical alignment mechanism. The system achieves IPC 9850 placement speeds up to 22,000 CPH and offers a placement accuracy of ±0.03mm @ 3 sigma. It supports a wide component range from 01005 chips to 55mm square components, with connector placement capability up to 72mm. The SM482 also includes an upward vision system for inspecting fine pitch components and BGA balls, ensuring top-tier accuracy and quality.
Both machines are equipped with electrically driven high-speed precision feeders, a robust feeder capacity of 120 8mm tape feeders, and are IT-ready for smart factory integration.
