Exotec broadens collaboration with Renault Group

Exotec to modernise Renault’s logistics operations in Germany. Renault Deutschland AG partners with Exotec to implement the Skypod system at its Brühl site by 2026. This initiative marks Renault’s first use of an automated warehouse in Germany, aiming to efficiently supply spare parts to dealers nationwide.


Exotec, a global leader in warehouse robotics, is set to equip Renault Deutschland AG with its advanced Skypod system, aiming to revolutionise logistics at Renault’s Brühl site. By 2026, Renault plans to utilise this automated facility to distribute spare parts to car dealers across Germany, marking its inaugural venture into automated warehousing in the country.

Following a successful implementation at Renault’s Villeroy site in France, Exotec will deploy its Skypod system in a new 258,000-square-foot warehouse in Germany. The facility will house 89 Skypod robots, designed to achieve a throughput of over 1,600 containers per hour. The system integrates efficient goods receiving and order picking, with a capacity of 1,500 order lines per hour. Exotec’s proprietary warehouse execution system, Deepsky, will manage the entire operation, ensuring seamless coordination from inbound to outbound flows.

The project is expected to go live in June 2026. Andreas Stöckl, EVP Sales Central Europe at Exotec, commented, “We are delighted to be involved in the modernization of Renault Germany’s logistics site. Our Skypod system enables flexible, scalable, and efficient warehousing that is ideally suited to the high demands of the automotive industry. Together, we are setting new standards for spare parts logistics in Germany.”
