EST-Floattech wins offshore wind vessel contract at recently established German office
Following the establishment of its office in Hamburg, Germany, in August 2021, EST-Floattech has been awarded the contract for the delivery of a battery pack to a currently unnamed wind support vessel in Southeast Asia.
“I am very pleased that the founding of the Hamburg company is paying off so quickly,” commented Marc Mühlenbeck, sales account manager, EST-Floattech. “Further orders are about to be signed.”

The dedicated German office is currently staffed with two sales managers and a technical project manager, and will deliver sustainable, safe and reliable battery solutions to customers in Europe and Asia. The decision to found EST-Floattech GmbH in 2021 was made following a growing demand for the company’s lithium-polymer battery systems over the past few years.
EST-Floattech’s systems have been utilized in more than 200 projects globally and include the zero-emission ferry operated by SFK (Kiel), several river cruise ships operated by Viking, and the Elektra, the first-ever hydrogen propelled pusher which is capable of sailing in either a hydrogen-electric mode or a full electric mode.
“The potential for our sustainable, safe and reliable battery solutions is huge,” explained Josefin Klindt, sales account manager, EST-Floattech. “After all, environmental and climate protection is becoming increasingly important, which affects both the need for new technologies and even the public image of companies, and environmental regulations are also becoming ever stricter.”
In addition to EST-Floattech’s Green Orca 1050 system, the company’s High Energy NMC, High Power NMC and High Energy LFP systems from the new Octopus series are nearing deployment.
