Octopus Energy-owned British tech company Kraken Technologies is partnering with broadband company TalkTalk, which will adopt Kraken as its sole customer management platform.
The multi-year partnership agreement will see TalkTalk’s millions of broadband UK customers migrate from legacy platforms to Kraken.
Kraken Technologies’ operating system is already contracted to run over 60 million customer accounts on behalf of many of the UK’s top utilities, including parent company Octopus, EDF Energy, Severn Trent and E.ON Next, as well as other major utilities globally.
According to the companies in a release, by streamlining account operations and consolidating everything into a single platform, Kraken will ensure customer service teams will have the tools needed – whether in energy, water, or now broadband.
The announcement marks Kraken’s first major expansion outside of energy and water utilities to a large-scale broadband provider, with both companies looking to leverage Kraken’s existing system as well as develop new capabilities for the telecoms industry.
