Emilia Foods Lab to become a central hub of innovation

Emilia Foods’ new Emilia Foods LAB, a state-of-the-art research and development laboratory, is positioned to become a central hub of innovation for the company and the broader food sector.

Initially specialising in supplying frozen food products to major American retail chains such as Walmart, Whole Foods Market, and Costco, the company has solidified its global market presence, including launching its brand, Via Emilia.

2024 marked a turning point as the company’s revenue began to climb, overcoming the economic challenges brought by the Covid pandemic and global disruptions.

Ivan Manfredi, CEO of Emilia Foods, emphasised the strategic importance of the new lab, saying the investment in Emilia Foods LAB enables it to develop cutting-edge products, and supporting the sustainable growth of the frozen food sector.

“This space serves as a catalyst for creative ideas and advanced solutions, helping us maintain and strengthen our market leadership,” Manfredi said. By fostering a rapid development environment, we aim to accelerate the time to market for these innovations, ensuring we stay ahead in delivering new and effective solutions to our customers.”

Emilia Foods LAB is a critical tool in the company’s mission to become the go-to partner for innovative frozen food projects, overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept to delivery.

Daniele Gambacurta, head of research, development, and quality, described the inauguration moment: “Turning on the LED symbolizes the spark of innovation and the myriad ideas that will come to life in this lab.
