Emerson introduces rugged industrial PCs for AI automation

Emerson unveils its latest industrial computing platforms for AI. The PACSystems IPC 6010, IPC 7010, and IPC 8010 expand Emerson’s lineup of high-performance industrial computers. These models support AI-enabled applications such as predictive maintenance and quality inspection, enhancing operational efficiency and offering a robust solution for demanding environments.

Emerson has introduced the PACSystems IPC 6010, IPC 7010, and IPC 8010, its latest line of industrial computing platforms engineered for demanding applications, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics. These platforms incorporate the first CPU in the newest generation of processors, specifically designed to enable AI capabilities like predictive maintenance, process optimisation, and decision support.

The PACSystems IPCs are built to meet the rigorous demands of digital transformation applications, providing reliable and rugged computing solutions essential for data collection, protocol conversion, and real-time analytics. These new models offer significant performance enhancements and a variety of options to develop tailored solutions for complex industrial environments, aiming to enhance scalability and reduce total cost of ownership.

Equipped with 13th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors and up to 64 GB of soldered ECC memory, these IPCs are engineered for maximum resilience against shock and vibration. Their compact design includes fan-less cooling, accommodating operating temperatures up to 70 degrees Celsius, with an optional fan for high-temperature conditions. Emerson’s patented vibration and thermal technologies further enhance reliability and longevity.

The IPCs offer extensive customisation with SSD storage up to 4 terabytes, multiple gigabit Ethernet interfaces, and up to four PCIe® slots. These features ensure the high-performance computing necessary for vision systems, data processing, and other rigorous functions. Pre-installed, pre-licensed operating systems, including Windows IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 and PACEdge, simplify deployment, while security features such as Trusted Platform Module and Secure Boot® software safeguard data integrity.

Harish Shinde, Emerson’s Vice President and General Manager for Controls and Software, stated, “These innovative next generation IPCs are a key part of the critical hardware backbone supporting Emerson’s Boundless Automation vision.” He emphasised their role in future-proofing industrial systems to ensure continuous uptime in extreme environments.
