element14 and Arduino to host webinar on IIoT platforms

element14, part of the Avnet Community, and Arduino have announced an upcoming webinar on enhancing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platforms using the Arduino Opta. This event will explore how to scale industrial projects through the versatile and widely recognised Arduino ecosystem.

The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, 10th October at 2pm BST/ 9am EST.

Join Phil Hutchinson, Senior Programme Manager at element14 Community, and Francesca Gentile, Technical Expert for Arduino Opta, as they demonstrate how Arduino-based micro PLCs can tackle programming challenges while enabling real-time control, monitoring, and predictive maintenance. The session will highlight how to integrate intelligence into existing IIoT solutions and optimise control and automation processes.

This webinar is an ideal introduction for those interested in exploring the benefits of the Arduino ecosystem, which offers free open-source software, tools, and an active support community.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Arduino to offer this valuable webinar, which will provide insights into how the Arduino Opta can transform industrial automation and IIoT projects,” said Phil Hutchinson, Senior Programme Manager at element14 Community. “The flexibility of the Arduino ecosystem empowers engineers and developers to innovate quickly, overcoming traditional PLC challenges and delivering smarter solutions. This webinar is a great opportunity to explore new possibilities in IIoT control, monitoring, and predictive maintenance.”

Francesca Gentile, who plays a key role in the Arduino Opta product’s lifecycle, will offer insights drawn from her work with enterprise clients, translating their needs into strategic advancements for the platform. She also leads the development of turnkey solutions for industrial control and automation.
