Food processing solutions provider Dinnissen has announced the opening of a new facility in Melle, near Ghent, Belgium, marking a strategic step in strengthening its presence in the European market.
The new location positions Dinnissen closer to clients in Belgium and Northern France, enhancing its ability to deliver localised service and support, while reinforcing its global footprint.
Stefaan Cottenie, recently appointed operations director for Belgium, will oversee the daily operations of the new site. The Belgian branch aims to serve sectors with rigorous quality and safety standards, including food, chemicals, feed, and pet food industries.
The decision to establish a presence in Belgium meets increased demand for advanced process solutions within these sectors. Dinnissen said the central position in Melle offers easy accessibility for regional clients, enabling more efficient collaboration and support.
The company’s Belgian operations will handle all aspects of system manufacturing internally — from sheet metal processing to full system engineering, software integration, and electrical work.
Visitors to Dinnissen’s production facilities in Sevenum, Netherlands, often witness first-hand the company’s extensive manufacturing capabilities, including testing at the upcoming D-Innocenter, which allows for complete system validation and product testing prior to installation.
“The D-Innocenter enables us to set up and test entire installations with actual product, allowing for adjustments during FAT and significantly reducing on-site commissioning time,” explained Cottenie.
Internationally, Dinnissen’s Belgian branch benefits from the expertise of the company’s global network, ensuring consistent support across all disciplines. The company emphasises a collaborative approach, focusing on working closely with clients to develop tailored solutions that meet their specific needs— viewing its role as a partner rather than just a supplier.
“Building long-term partnerships is at the core of what we do,” said Cottenie. “We believe in supporting our customers through every stage of their project, from initial concept to full operation.”
This expansion follows recent openings in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, reflecting Dinnissen’s strategic commitment to international growth driven by customer proximity, not merely geographical expansion. Managing director Wouter Kuijpers highlighted that the company’s goal is to enhance local service capabilities and knowledge sharing among branches, ensuring uniform quality standards worldwide.
“Internationalisation allows us to be closer to our customers’ needs,” Kuijpers said. “We remain committed to continuous innovation and support, delivering value globally through local expertise.”
