Diagnostic fault finding for electrical installations
Equally suited for diagnostic fault finding on electrical installations, auditing electricity consumption and validating the quality of electrical supplies, the new CA 8345 power quality analyser from Chauvin Arnoux combines flexibility with ease of use, extensive communication options and full compliance with IEC 61000-4-30 Class A. The CA 8345 is suitable for use on all types of single- and three-phase systems up to 1,000V.
Measurements supported by the CA 8345 include all standard parameters such as voltage, current and frequency, together with P, N, Q1, S and D power values. Total and per-phase energy values can also be measured, along with details about harmonics from DC up to the 63rd order, and inter-harmonic subgroups from 0 to the 62nd order. TrueInrush technology is supported, and all measurements take DC components fully into account.
Results are shown in real-time on a 7-inch colour touch-screen display which, according to the measurement in progress, can be configured to show numerical data, graphs, oscillograms or phasor diagrams. All results can be captured at user-defined intervals and stored for later analysis and reporting. To ensure accurate timing of the measurements, the CA 8345 has an internal GPS system which provides precise UTC synchronisation. Support for up to 20,000 user-configurable alarm conditions is also provided.
For communication, the CA 8345 offers USB 2.0, Ethernet 100 Mbps and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g interfaces. It also incorporates a webserver that provides a remote user interface when used in conjunction with Android, Microsoft and iOS apps. Software for real-time data access using a PC is freely available from the Chauvin Arnoux website.
Featuring compact yet robust construction and a magnetic hook to facilitate mounting, the new Chauvin Arnoux CA 8345 power quality analyser is easy to accommodate and install within distribution cabinets when making measurements over extended periods. It has an IP54 ingress protection rating and offers safety features that include automatic recognition of current sensors and a CAT IV 1,000 V rating in line with IEC 61010.
