Detectamet wins Best Company Award
Detectamet has expanded its award cabinet after success at a recent Food Hygiene & Technology Awards in London, seeing off competition to receive the prestigious Best Company (over 10 employees) award for 2022 from food writer Matthew Fort.
The winning manufacturer of food-safe metal & X-ray detectable products are designed to reduce the risk of foreign matter contamination in food and pharmaceutical processing environments, helping to protect manufacturers against expensive and damaging product recalls.
Over the last 12 months, Detectamet has continued its manufacturing investment programme, acquiring new injection moulding machinery, developing its own mob cap & beard snood manufacturing facility, and investing in CNC machinery to improve their Metal Detector Test Piece range.
Alongside their manufacturing investments, Detectamet has also expanded, this time geographically, opening offices in Germany in 2021. In total, Detectamet now have 5 sites globally, based in the UK, Germany, USA, Canada and Australia, and supply food-safe metal & X-ray detectable products to processing facilities in more than 150 countries.
Having founded Detectamet in 2003, CEO Sean Smith was delighted to receive the award, stating: “After a truly transformative 12 months of manufacturing investment and changes to our ways of working, getting the recognition from SOFHT is a fantastic way to round off the year. Our customers have been really receptive to our development of in-house manufacturing, ensuring we are responsible for the quality control of our products and reducing product lead-times. We’re delighted to win the award and excited to announce further improvements to our detectable product range in 2023!”
