Dawn Foods UK and Ireland has introduced a reduced-sugar cookie mix in both plain and chocolate varieties that contains 30% less sugar in comparison to comparable goods in its portfolio,

The two new cookie mixes, which are part of the Dawn Balance line, allow bakers to meet modern dietary requirements while simultaneously maximising sales of cookies, one of the most popular bakery items in the UK. This satisfies customer desire for decadent yet healthier bakery products. Both mixtures are simple to use and only need butter and water.

“Cookies remain one of the most versatile and profitable categories in the bakery industry, but bakery businesses today need solutions that address changing consumer preferences,” said Jacqui Passmore, marketing lead at Dawn Europe & AMEAP.

“With these new reduced sugar cookie mixes, we’re offering practical innovations that help our customers stay ahead, boost efficiency and unlock new opportunities for growth in the ‘better for you’ category.”

The reduced sugar Cookie Mix launch is the latest milestone in Dawn’s ongoing commitment to expand its Balance portfolio offering Better-for-You solutions. The Dawn Balance portfolio offers new and reformulated solutions that reduce sugar, sodium, and fat. Dawn has already achieved a 44.5% increase in Better-for-You solutions since 2021, putting it well on track to reach its ambitious goal of 50% growth by 2025.
