Data-driven solutions will enable grids of the future to speed up decarbonisation
Gary Lawrence, power and grid segment president at Schneider Electric speaks about how grids of the future will speed up decarbonisation.
“The climate challenge is an energy challenge, it just requires us to reduce our emissions by 10 Gigatonnes per year between now and 2030,” said Lawrence.
Lawrence added that in order to achieve this target, we will need to employ data-driven solutions and connect customers with technology.
He added that solutions including advanced distribution management systems will enable utilities to predict demand, view what is happening on the grid in real-time and in the process avoid grid failures and ensure more renewables are integrated and digitalisation intensified.
