Combilift’s 100,000th forklift raises €100,000 for charity

Combilift reaches a significant manufacturing milestone with philanthropy. The company celebrated its 100,000th forklift by donating €100,000 to UNICEF. This initiative underscores Combilift’s dedication to corporate social responsibility, with funds supporting children in crisis globally.

Combilift, a global leader in materials handling, has marked a significant achievement by transforming its 100,000th forklift into a philanthropic endeavour. The company raised and donated €100,000 to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to aid children in crisis around the world.

To commemorate the production of its 100,000th forklift, Combilift launched its largest global competition, offering the exclusive ‘Golden Prize’ multidirectional Combi-CBE. All proceeds from the competition were donated to UNICEF Ireland’s Children’s Emergency Fund. The campaign generated €56,500 from ticket sales, with Combilift augmenting the total to €100,000, reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Combilift CEO and Co-Founder Martin McVicar highlighted the dual purpose of the campaign: celebrating a manufacturing milestone and contributing positively beyond the factory. McVicar stated, “By supporting UNICEF, we are supporting one of the world’s most effective humanitarian organisations and helping children who need it most.”

The cheque was presented by McVicar to Owen Buckley, UNICEF Ireland’s Head of Corporate Partnerships, and Michaela Plunkett, Business Development Manager, in Monaghan. Buckley expressed gratitude, noting the donation’s timing as crucial for providing essential resources to children affected by conflict and natural disasters.

The winning ticket was held by Kareen Farrell, who visited Combilift’s headquarters in Monaghan to receive the unique 100,000th Combi-CBE “Golden Forklift.” Farrell expressed surprise and delight at her win, noting her father’s involvement in supporting UNICEF as a motivating factor for entering the competition.

The Golden Forklift debuted at the IMHX Exhibition in the UK before commencing a European trade show tour, garnering significant international attention and reflecting Combilift’s extensive customer base and shared commitment to social impact.
