CCEP launches Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Sustainability Roadshow
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), the largest independent bottler of Coca-Cola globally, has launched the Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Sustainability Roadshow across workplaces in GB.
Described as “informative, interactive” the roadshow will showcase to customers where the business is on its sustainability journey, the progress it is making and its future targets.
The series of events will be the first time CCEP has undertaken a carbon neutral roadshow and will take place in more than 75 workplace, institutions and vending environments across the country, reaching more than 100,000 people who will be able to sample Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, discover the story behind the bottle and the business’ sustainability commitments.
CCEP will share information about its sustainability programme and be available to answer customer questions alongside the Coca-Cola Zero Sugar sampling activity, supported by point-of-sale (POS) materials, interactive games and merchandise giveaways.
The roadshow is launching in partnership with experiential event services firm DNEL and RSK Group, a global sustainability services provider.
DNEL is committed to reducing the environmental and social impacts of events.
The roadshow will use electric fleets to support a carbon neutral logistics plan, and recycled merchandise will be used for giveaways, to minimise environmental impact.
RSK will collate and calculate the carbon emissions, including those emitted through the generation of the electricity needed to power the transport fleet, and create a plan to help the business offset any remaining emissions to ensure that the roadshow is carbon neutral.
The roadshow is anchored in CCEP’s sustainability action plan, This is Forward which targets six key societal and environmental areas where CCEP has impact. It also forms part of the business’ Net Zero 2040 ambition.
Sam Jones, head of climate and sustainability at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (GB) said: “Continuing the net zero conversation is vital for tackling climate change and I believe that we have to be having this conversation with people every day in relatable ways if we’re going to collectively address the climate emergency together. This roadshow is an example of how we are doing this and bringing it to customers in a sustainable way. We absolutely recognise the need to reduce before we offset, and where we do use carbon offsets, we must ensure they are credible and high quality.”
Paul May, environment lead workplace and institutions at CCEP, said: “We’ve kicked off the roadshow in earnest with visits to multiple RAF and Workplace events already, and it’s been really encouraging to see such strong engagement with customers so far. I look forward to keeping this momentum going in the months ahead, meeting as many of our trade customers as possible and keeping the dialogue going on such an important issue.”
