Cavotec has signed an order valued at €8.1m (US$9m) with a global container shipping company to deliver complete shore power systems for new container vessels.

Project goals

The order includes cable management reels and weatherproof enclosures, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026. Cavotec’s systems will provide cable management solutions, enabling vessels to connect to shore power while at berth. This will reduce emissions and support compliance with international environmental regulations.

Long-term partnership

The new contract builds on a long-standing partnership between Cavotec and the customer, further strengthening their collaboration. Cavotec has previously supplied multiple shore power cable management systems to the customer, supporting their environmental and operational objectives.

David Pagels, CEO of Cavotec, commented, “This contract confirms Cavotec’s strong position in the growing shore power market and marks a new milestone in our collaboration with one of the world’s top shipping companies.”

In related news, Cavotec also recently signed an order for shore power with another global shipping company, valued at approximately US$5m. Click here to read the full story.
