Bio&Me launches protein-powered Porridge Pot

Bio&Me, founded by The Gut Health Doctor, Dr Megan Rossi, BSc, PhD RD, is adding two Protein Boosted Porridge+ Pots to its bestselling porridge range. The all-natural, gut healthy duo will roll into Sainsbury’s stores from today.
The two new pots will be available in fruity Blueberry and indulgent Caramel flavours, retailing at £1.30/65g pot.
Launched in response to consumer demand for a protein-rich twist on the brand’s current porridge pots, the new variants deliver just over 12g of protein per pot, and are aimed at those consumers who enjoy active lifestyles and that are looking for a convenient energy-fuelled breakfast or snack.
Based on Dr Megan’s scientific research, Bio&Me believes that people and microbes thrive on variety and deliciously good food, so it will come as no surprise to learn that each pot is also packed with diverse plant-based goodness. The Blueberry and Caramel variants contain up to nine plant-based foods, including the likes of almonds, brown linseed, dates, carrots, and sunflower seeds. Not only that, the pots are claim-ably ‘Good for Your Gut’, contain no added sugars, artificial sweeteners or emulsifiers, making them a naturally nutritious on-the-go option.
In line with Bio&Me’s B Corp commitments, the pots feature a PEFC certified paper pot, making them good for the planet, as well as good for the gut, while the lid remains recyclable aluminium as before. The rest of Bio&Me’s porridge pot range switched over to paper pots at the end of 2024, signalling a first for a challenger porridge brand, and following in the steps of PepsiCo’s Quaker Oats.
Jon Walsh, Bio&Me co-founder and CEO, says: “Our current porridge pots are already striking the right chord with consumers, delivering +91% growth1, and we hope these new protein pots will further elevate the range. Furthermore, reducing the amount of plastic waste we produce is of utmost importance to us as a business, so we’re pleased to be making this sustainable shift into paper pots, helping simplify the recycling process for shoppers, as well as being planet kind too. Overall, the Bio&Me business is performing incredibly well, with retail sales up 112% year on year, as consumers increasingly look to prioritise their health.”
Dr Megan Rossi, Bio&Me co-founder, says of the new Porridge+ Protein duo: ““Here at Bio&Me, we have a passion for making gut health deliciously easy. I designed these protein-packed porridge pots for those with busy lifestyles who like a nutrient-dense breakfast boost or a satisfying post-workout snack. Each serving delivers 12 grams of protein without any added sugar, artificial sweeteners or emulsifiers, proving that real, wholesome ingredients can be both moreish and tasty.”
