Bellamie introduces the elegant tradition of French apéritifs to British shores

New premium cherry liqueur apéritif, Bellamie is now available to the UK trade, bringing the elegant tradition of French apéritif to UK bars and restaurants.

Crafted exclusively with real fruits and natural ingredients in Kent, Bellamie uses no colouring or flavouring agents, meaning it’s as delicious sipped over ice, as it is in a spritz, or a more adventurous cocktail, like a mouthwatering sour cherry negroni. Its bold cherry flavour also stands it apart from the citrus or bitter options currently available.

Meaning beautiful friend, Bellamie, is a contemporary take on French ‘Guignolet’ liqueur, a delightful traditional cherry spirit that originated in the 17th century in the Anjou region.

Bellamie is a celebration of the cherry tree, made through maceration and blending, it utilises the cherry tree’s blossoms, fruit and stones, enriching these with cognac, sugar and roasted apricot stones.

Bellamie is deep ruby in colour, with hints of violet, and aromas of hawthorn berry, red apple, marmalade, nutmeg, cinnamon, plum, blackcurrant and a prominent note of cherry. With a palate of redcurrant, blackberry, raspberry and marzipan, this delightful combination of sour cherries and sweet spice means it works from day to night, and across the seasons. Its lower ABV (18%) also makes it a great alternative to stronger sprits for the modern discerning drinker.

Founder of Bellamie, Marie Voirin said her loved of the apéritif occasion prompted the creation of a product which captures the essence of French conviviality and would bring people together.

“Bellamie offers something new to the UK trade,” Voirin noted. “It is an aperitif made without colouring or flavouring agents, that has a bright, vibrant cherry flavour with a marzipan and baking spice finish, completely different from the citrus and bitter options currently out there. The perfume-like luxury packaging of Bellamie is also designed to make a statement and elevate any back bar.

“Best enjoyed alongside salty treats and great company – I can’t wait to hear what the UK trade thinks.”
