Baldwin Engineering Group acquires CR Solutions, bolstering UK operations. This strategic acquisition, finalised on 9 December 2025, adds CR Solutions’ renowned robotics and automation expertise to Baldwin’s growing portfolio, enhancing capabilities across multiple sectors. The move strengthens Baldwin’s position in automotive, aerospace, and pharmaceutical markets.


Baldwin Engineering Group has announced the acquisition of CR Solutions, further expanding its portfolio of UK manufacturing and engineering companies. Completed on 9 December 2025, this strategic acquisition follows comprehensive discussions and adds CR Solutions’ reputable robotics and automation expertise to Baldwin’s capabilities.

CR Solutions now integrates into a diverse group that includes Sugden Ltd, known for its production equipment for a variety of food items, and Baldwin Technical Services, which specialises in control panels and industrial automation systems. This acquisition enhances Baldwin’s manufacturing capabilities, allowing for more tailored solutions across industries such as food production, automotive, aerospace, and pharmaceuticals.

Shaun Drew, Director of Baldwin Technical Services, will manage the sales and operations of CR Solutions alongside his current responsibilities, fostering closer collaboration while maintaining robust leadership. Mark Smith, CR Solutions’ former Technical Director, will continue to offer technical expertise, supporting project delivery within the business.

Former CR Solutions owner, Steve Bennett, expressed confidence in the transition, highlighting Baldwin’s commitment to engineering excellence and long-term growth. Chris Baldwin, Managing Director of Baldwin Engineering Group, emphasised the alignment of values and the potential for expanded opportunities within the group and sectors served by CR Solutions.
