Arch Systems Is Still Growing! Cameron Sobie, Ph.D. Appointed to Sr. Staff Factory Data Scientist

Arch Systems, the leading provider of machine data and analytics for electronics assembly operations, has announced the appointment of Cameron Sobie, Ph.D. as Sr. Staff Factory Data Scientist. Sobie has a track record for combining state-of-the-art machine learning and data analytics with engineering knowledge and business pragmatism to create effective, financially-impactful solutions to industrial challenges.

Sobie joins Arch from Siemens PLM and Siemens Energy, where he applied advanced data analytics and machine learning in the engineering industry across domains including manufacturing, transportation and power generation at large engineering conglomerates. 

A passionate researcher with a drive to understand how the world around us works, Sobie uses this knowledge to create new ways to make our world more efficient, equitable and environmentally sustainable through technology, data transparency and data analytics. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he researched new methods to improve predictions of material behavior and their lifetimes in hostile environments.

Sobie brings broad multidisciplinary experience in numerical analysis and high-performance computing with applications spanning power generation, transportation, materials science and industrial machinery. His comprehensive research experience over 10 years in industrial and academic settings has resulted in numerous publications and conference presentations.

Arch is a recipient of the 2021 Global Technology and Mexico Technology Awards, and 2022 NPI Award.
