Amazon Filters completes urgent order for water restoration

Amazon Filters swiftly addressed urgent water quality concerns. The manufacturer rapidly supplied essential filtration cartridges to restore potable water in southeast England, demonstrating their efficient production and logistics capabilities. This response highlights the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards in public water safety.

Amazon Filters, a leading process filter manufacturer, has efficiently responded to an urgent request from a water company to restore potable tap water for approximately 20,000 homes and businesses in southeast England.

The Surrey-based company quickly mobilised its resources, delivering an immediate supply of 225 filter cartridges from its Camberley production centre, coordinating efforts across its sales, stores, operations, and logistics teams. A subsequent batch of 225 cartridges followed two days later, with additional shipments prepared to meet ongoing customer demand.

The total order encompassed 900 cartridges, required to address a water quality issue at a treatment facility. Concerns over the disinfection process had led to a precautionary ‘boil water’ notice, as the water quality no longer complied with stringent regulatory standards for consumption. The deployed cartridges, 40” SupaSpun II R31 Cryptosporidium Retentive, offer precision-graded density filtration at one micron, effectively removing the cryptosporidium parasite. These form part of Amazon Filters’ SupaSpun II range of absolute-rated depth filter cartridges.

Constructed from sustainable polypropylene, the SupaSpun II cartridges are approved for public water supply use under the Drinking Water Inspectorate’s Regulation 31. Given the varied housing configurations for installation, Amazon Filters utilised ‘double open ended’ stock, facilitating rapid ‘end-cap’ preparation for emergency dispatch.

Lisa Astbury, Sales Manager at Amazon Filters, stated, “As soon as we received the order, we acted immediately to enable the operators to install the new cartridges and move to restore continuity of supply. Our response is a demonstration of our ‘quick and able’ approach to manufacturing and supply.” She added, “The one-micron SupaSpun 900 filters help remove turbidity and contamination, supporting excellent water quality.”
