Alzamora Group focuses on modernising with new machinery and automation
Alzamora Group has made a significant investment in the latest technology, valued at approximately €7m, including the incorporation of two new printers and an automated in-house logistics system.
The manufacturer of sustainable cartonboard packaging has acquired a Heidelberg XL 106 7+LYY-1 printer for its headquarters in Spain and a Heidelberg CX104-6-LYYL printer for its Novotipo subsidiary in Portugal.
Both printers, which are custom-built, significantly improve print quality and offer a wide range of special finishes to meet the needs of the most demanding requirements. Among its features is artificial intelligence (AI) through the ‘Color Assistant’ system. An intelligent algorithm automatically improves the presetting of the inking to achieve better quality and colour consistency in each print.
The high-speed printers can print between 15,000 and 18,000 sheets per hour, maximising the printing capacity of each of the plants. In addition, they feature an automatic non-stop system and a double quality control system, eliminating the need for downtime to replenish material and reducing set-up times, which significantly increases operational efficiency.
Anna Alzamora, managing director of Alzamora Group noted that the investment not only strengthens production capacity, but also underlines a commitment to optimisation and continuous improvement.
“We want to continue to meet the needs and expectations of our customers by offering high quality solutions,” Anna Alzamora said. “Alzamora Group has also installed a new automated internal logistics system, being pioneers in the Iberian Peninsula. This system connects the flow of raw materials, from the arrival of the material to the printing process, achieving a fully automated process that improves operational efficiency and production capacity.
“With this latest investment, Alzamora reaffirms its continuous commitment to the advancement of its production processes. Increasing efficiencies, focusing resources on added value actions, and improving the working conditions of the team,” said Ferran Berga, project manager of Alzamora Group.
