Alfaplas claims a first in the UK launching verified PCR film

Alfaplasa has launched Alfablue, a packaging film that helps UK manufacturers and printers reduce environmental impact and Plastic Packaging Tax.

According to the UK-based manufacturer and printer of flexible packaging, the film is developed in direct response to market demand for trusted solutions. Alfablue leads a wave of change in sustainable packaging.

The Alfablue range reflects Alfaplas’ commitment to driving innovation in flexible packaging and includes four trusted variations – PCR, PCR PRO, PCR MAX, and Compostable – each guaranteeing a minimum of 30% assured PCR content, giving brands flexible, compliant, and sustainable options tailored to their performance needs.

Alfablue is the first UK-produced film to receive third-party accreditation for post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. The accreditation, verified through a rigorous Intertek audit to meet APR’s globally recognised standards, ensures reliable performance and certifies a minimum of 30% PCR content. In a market crowded with unverified claims, Alfablue delivers a proven tax exemption eligibility and genuine sustainability credentials brands can trust.

Phil Brown, commercial director at Alfaplas, commented: “As a trusted supply chain partner to UK retailers and FMCG brands, Alfaplas supports key sectors including food and drink, household goods, and horticulture, by ensuring compliance and giving customers the assurance to buy their packaging with complete confidence. The launch of Alfablue strengthens our commitment to delivering sustainable, innovative packaging solutions that brands can trust.”
