AD Bly Construction, headquartered in Old Knebworth, Hertfordshire, has significantly expanded its machinery fleet with the acquisition of 39 new Bobcat machines. Supplied by Versatile Equipment, the authorised Bobcat dealer for South East England and parts of the East Midlands and East Anglia, this purchase includes a diverse range of equipment tailored to meet varied operational demands.
The latest additions to AD Bly’s fleet comprise 25 mini excavators ranging from 1 to 9 tonnes, two L85 compact wheel loaders, two TL30.70 telehandlers, eight tandem rollers, and two TR75 trench rollers. This equipment is complemented by an array of Bobcat attachments, including multiple hydraulic breakers, designed to enhance operational versatility.
Phil Stoneham, Area Sales Manager at Versatile Equipment, stated, “We are delighted to supply such a broad mix of Bobcat machinery to AD Bly. The initial focus was on the L85 compact wheel loader as an alternative to telehandlers. Following a visit to our headquarters, AD Bly’s Procurement Director, Kevin McSkimming, and his team assessed the wider Bobcat range and identified machinery suited to their diverse working environments.”
All equipment is supported by Bobcat’s BobCARE plan, ensuring fixed maintenance costs and protection against inflation. This plan includes regular maintenance operations and the provision of genuine Bobcat parts and fluids necessary for planned service.
Kevin McSkimming, Procurement Director at AD Bly Construction, remarked, “The L85 performed exactly as we needed, but the visit highlighted the breadth of Bobcat equipment now available. The combination of mini excavators, loaders, compaction equipment, and telehandlers fits the varied nature of our work across civil engineering and groundworks throughout the south, central, and eastern regions. We have been impressed with both the performance of the machines and the support from Versatile Equipment. The excellent finance and maintenance programmes help us to keep costs under control, ensuring high performance and value retention for future replacements.”
AD Bly Construction operates across groundworks, civil engineering, and concrete frame contracts. The new Bobcat equipment will play a crucial role in projects involving drainage, decontamination, site clearance, infrastructure, and concrete frame construction.
Bobcat provides an extensive range of compact machinery, continually expanding its product portfolio across construction, landscaping, industrial, and agricultural applications. The R-Series telehandler range, with Stage V engines, offers models with varying lifting capacities and heights, catering to both construction and agricultural sectors.
Versatile Equipment, authorised throughout several counties, supports Bobcat sales with a full selection of genuine accessories and parts, backed by a comprehensive service network. Their rental fleet, one of the largest in the UK, offers state-of-the-art compact loaders and attachments, supported by expert advice on machinery hire.
This strategic investment by AD Bly Construction underscores a commitment to operational efficiency and cost predictability, enhancing their capacity to tackle complex engineering and groundwork projects across the region.
