Tech companies ABB and Cleanwatts have announced a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build enhanced energy management and efficiency technologies for communities and buildings.
The collaboration will focus on developing scalable projects in key European markets and on enabling users and property managers to make efficient and sustainable use of energy through smart monitoring and control solutions.
The two companies will build solutions that combine Cleanwatts’ advanced energy-sharing platform with ABB’s energy management technology, such as the InSite energy management system, energy meters, sensors and EV chargers, among others. By leveraging both parties’ capabilities both companies will offer a unified and scalable solution to harmonise renewable generation, storage and energy-efficient operations.
The collaboration is supposed to bring significant benefits for community members, including lower energy costs through optimised consumption of self-produced renewable energy, reduced electricity connection charges with minimised power peaks and enhanced efficiency and performance of renewable equipment including energy storage.
